Fashion designer Stella McCartney has been honoured as the Person of the Year by animal rights charity People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA.
The daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney refuses to use fur or leather in her collections.
“Stella McCartney proves you can have a look that kills without killing,” the Daily Snack quoted Peta’s US senior vice-president Dan Mathews, as saying.
The 36-year-old designer acquired her animal loving instincts from her late mum, Linda.
Stellas hardcore campaigns include challenging British Airways to remove leather seats from their first-class cabins, and launching an anti-fur campaign in online world Second Life in 2007.
“I consider sitting on a poor cow’s skin a throwback to earlier, harder times - not a luxury, she said. (ANI)

Judy Collins relases Lennon/McCartney album
"Breaking away from her roots, Judy has just realised a long-held ambition and released an album of songs by Lennon and McCartney that she dedicates to Paul – and Linda, who died in April, 1998, after battling breast cancer".
But she had heard that Sir Paul is to headline a show at Liverpool’s Capital of Culture jamboree next year and declares that she would be so pleased if she got the chance to sing her favourite Beatles songs in the city that spawned them.
“I was there on a fleeting visit years ago and thought it so lovely,” says Judy. “But how good would it be for me to do a concert in Liverpool during that special year?

Congradulation Stella designer of the year!
Stella McCartney was named Designer of the Year last night at the British Fashion Awards, ahead of Luella Bartley and Anya Hindmarch.
T
en other leading fashion figures were also honoured at the ceremony, which was hosted by Zoe Ball and held at the Lawrence Hall in Westminster.
36-year-old McCartney has had a bumpy ride since launching her eponymous label in 2001. Despite a sizeable investment from the Gucci Group, which owns 50 per cent of the brand, McCartney only turned over an operating profit this year; lucky considering, Robert Polet, Chief Executive of the Gucci Group, had demanded she got out of the red by 2007

More awards for Paul at the Q
The Beatles legend received The Q Icon award, Kylie took The Q Idol accolade and Arctic Monkeys claimed the prestigious Best Act In The World Today prize at the glitzy ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
Paul notably failed to mention his estranged wife Heather Mills in his lengthy acceptance speech, in which he thanked his former Beatles bandmates, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison, and his late wife Linda McCartney.
He said: "I've been coming to these things for a long time and you sit there petrified, not knowing what to say, should you tell a couple of dirty jokes?
"I would like to thank George, John and Ringo, the boys. I would like to thank Linda for seeing me though some real tough periods, and my beautiful family, my kids, who are fantastic."
The 65-year-old singer was presented the award by a visibly drunk Damon Albarn, who earlier bemused the star-studded audience with a rambling speech when he collected The Q Inspiration Award.

Whats the skinny on Heather and coppers leave Heather alone
Copper won't relent, even after she shows prosthetic leg.
Heather Mills McCartney is being fined for parking her £130k Bentley in a disabled bay. The ex-model, 39, was slapped with a £125 ticket by a New York traffic cop. 'The cop saw Heather's fancy car parked in the bay without a disabled permit,' says an onlooker. 'She tried telling him she was disabled and even ended up hitting her false leg to prove it, but he told her she couldn't park there.' As the officer turned around, Heather managed to let off some steam. She stuck her tongue out at him.

Heather McCartney wants to buy land around her property
Vegetarian Heather Mills McCartney is trying to buy fields surrounding her new £3m home - so that she doesn't have to look out at cows. Farmer John Smith, 70, has been approached twice in the last month by Heather's aides. The animal rights spokeswoman, 39, has told the farmer that she's distressed when she looks at the cows destined for slaughter.
'We were told that initially she didn't like looking at the cows on our land because she is a vegetarian,' says farmer John. But residents in the area believe that she actually wants to keep the paparazzi away. The land has a public footpath through it – so if Heather owned it, she could prosecute anyone who strayed and walked over towards her mansion. 'This is clearly all about her privacy,' one resident tells the Daily Mail. 'From the public footpath it's possible to see into her property.'

Stellas New Summer tank tee for Charity
Her association with Adidas brought her more profits and fame, but as those two raised her image and “prestige” went absolutely downhill - yet she still could do something about it. Now as she launches this new set of limited edition t-shirt she places herself one step closer of becoming a faded designer - those who vanish as a result of doing too many commercial stuff or giving out to many licenses.
The design itself of the new tank is absolutely hideous. I cannot see why anybody would feel attracted by such piece, since the colors are awfully mixed and I had it with the tacky hippie look. From where I see it, I can only picture very young girls wearing these and/or really low level wannabes.

Maccas brother to show fotos in Scottish village
PA Entertainment
Mike is set to exhibit his London Live 8 photos
Sir Paul McCartney's brother is to stage a rare show of his rock photographs in a remote Scottish village.
Mike McCartney will put on an exhibition of pictures he took at the London Live 8 concert.
Durness in Sutherland is hosting the John Lennon Northern Lights festival between September 28 and 30.
It celebrates the murdered ex-Beatle's long-running links with the area.
Mike, 63, agreed to bring his collection up a few days before the festival for a special exhibition.
His pictures feature many of the stars who played in London in July 2005 - including Annie Lennox, Fran Healy, The Killers and Pink Floyd.
He said: "I didn't want to put them on show during the festival, as the event is not about me.
"But I was happy to come up before and let everyone see the pictures.
"I am looking forward to coming to Durness and opening the exhibition - and where I go my camera always goes with me, so I hope to take some photographs of the area."
Some of Mike's pictures feature in the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Among the artists taking part in the Northern Lights festival are chart toppers Nizlopi, the Queen's Master of Music Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, artist Peter Howson, and singers Julie Fowlis and Donnie Munro.

Photographer faces jail for assaulting Heather Mills
David Brown
The estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney said last night that she hoped the paparazzi would leave her alone after a photographer was told that he could be jailed for assaulting her.
Heather Mills had told Brighton Magistrates Court that she had taken on the presspack on behalf of other celebrities who were being harassed by the constant presence of the media.
Jay Kaycappa, a freelance photographer, was found guilty yesterday of assaulting Ms Mills by grabbing her right shoulder to turn her around so that he could get a better picture. He was also found guilty of assaulting Mark Payne who had blocked him from getting a photograph of Ms Mills the next day.
Ms Mills, 39, had told the magistrates: “I don’t have to spend my time doing this. Jay Kaycappa has assaulted a lot of people and upset people and I’m going out on a limb.”
Phil Hall, her spokesman, said: “Heather is delighted that justice has been done and hopes that the photographers who pursue her on a daily basis will now leave her and her daughter alone.”
Sentencing of Kaykappa. 31, from Fareham, Hampshire — who has 132 previous convictions for dishonesty offences — was adjourned to August 16 for reports. He was warned that sentencing options included custody.

Photographer guilty of assaulting Heather Mills
A photographer was tonight found guilty of assaulting Heather Mills-McCartney in a subway as he tried to take her picture.
Jay Kaycappa, 32, grabbed the estranged wife of ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney by her right shoulder in order to swing her round and take her photograph.
Brighton Magistrates Court heard during a three-day trial that the incident took place in a subway in the seaside resort on July 5 last year.
Father of three Kaycappa, of The Hurdles, Fareham, Hampshire, was also convicted of assaulting Ms Mills-McCartney's friend Mark Payne the following evening.
The freelance photographer shook his head in the dock after magistrates convicted him of both assault charges.
Ms Mills-McCartney was not in court to hear the verdicts.

The Queen saluted the Beatles!
(Tuesday July 10, 2007 08:40 AM)
Her Majesty The Queen saluted the Beatles on Sunday with a special personal message commemorating the 50th anniversary of the legendary band's beginnings.
She noted the anniversary "with much pleasure" and sent "my best wishes to all concerned for a most enjoyable and successful occasion."
The historic moment that led to the formation of the Beatles occurred on Saturday 6th July 1957 when a 16-year-old John Lennon met a just- turned-15 Paul McCartney at a church garden fete in Liverpool.
The message from Her Majesty the Queen was sent to the people of Liverpool who gathered at the site for a re-creation of the original event.
Beatles scholar Martin Lewis, who received the message from Her Majesty, said: "This anniversary marks a momentous occasion in popular culture that literally changed the world. Without Lennon meeting McCartney we would not have had the Beatles as we know them."
Harleyblues note:
YES, the Queen should have included Pete Best in her tribute, he did play with the Silver Beetles than Beatles from 1960-1962 "Once a Beatle always a Beatle"! so lets hear it for Pete he helped in the creation of the Beatle too!
Sir Paul McCartney wants everyone to become Veggie!
10th July 2007 12:30:02
Sir Paul McCartney wants everyone to become vegetarians to stop global warming.
The Beatles legend believes the world would be a better place if people stopped eating meat, because it would stop the destruction of rain forests.
Animal rights campaigner Paul said: "Livestock farming is one of the biggest destroyers of the planet. When you see the trees in the Amazon being cut down for hamburger cattle, that's pretty obvious.
"And it's all done in the name of something that benefits humans, when in fact it's the opposite. It's all about attitudes, no one thinks they are the one who has to change."
Paul's late first wife Linda introduced him to vegetarianism in the 70s.
'Linda launched a range of meatfree cookbooks and a line of frozen vegetarian meals under the 'Linda McCartney' name.
She was a passionate animal rights campaigner and following her death from breast cancer in 1998, Paul said the best tribute to her memory would be for fans to become vegetarians.Continued on Page 2
Yoko I didn't influence John Lennon
JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO
has blasted claims she was a powerful influence on the former BEATLE - insisting it was he who led her. The Japanese performer was widely blamed for splitting up The Beatles, but she insists she had a limited control over the star throughout his career. Ono tells Mojo magazine, "Despite what people always say, I don't think I influenced John much. "But through him I discovered an incredible world. He was always dealing with the people of the world. That's a pretty interesting thing to do."

Fashion Fab report: A virtual anti-fur protest
: A virtual anti-fur protest
BY ROD STAFFORD HAGWOOD
Fashion Columnist Posted July 8 2007
note;
I have posted earlier this week in reguards to Stella McCartny's Animal Camp.
here are some updates
Have you always wanted to protest for animal rights but just didn't have the time to schlep around in the great outdoors carrying a big ol' sign?Do it online instead. Oh-so-hip designer Stella McCartney has teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for the first global virtual anti-fur protest.
Beginning Thursday animal rights supporters can log onto SecondLife.com — where users interact with each other in a virtual world — and join in on the activities staged on an "island."The island will feature stables, horse jumps, a lake, picnic tables, tree houses, Linda McCartney mini-veggie-burger stalls and a "live" DJ booth.Visitors will receive a goodie bag of anti-fur accessories, be invited to come up with the best anti-fur slogan and asked to wear a virtual T-shirt emblazoned with the motto, "I'd rather be pixelated than wear fur
.""Sometimes it's nice to have a bit of humor on serious subjects," McCartney said in a press release. The designer will choose the winning slogans with the first prize being two tickets to her spring-summer show in Paris this October; second prize is a faux-Appaloosa bag and third prize a full set of Care by Stella McCartney (her organic skin care line).
The event will last until July 29th."We are always looking for new ways to raise awareness about the extreme suffering that animals endure on fur farms and in cruel steel-jaw traps in the world," said
PETA prez Ingrid E. Newkirk. "So when Stella came up with this idea, we were on board from the beginning. Stella's Second Life fur protest is a lighthearted way to draw attention to a very serious issue."
If you're pregnant but still want to look like a rock star, check out Rock Star Momma (Atria Books, $17.95) where author Skye Hoppus gives you hints on how to remain chic even when avec petit enfant. She should know what she's talking about. After all, not only is she the wife of former blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus and the mother of their 4-year-old son Jack, but she's also the designer of a maternity and children's line called Childish Clothing. Many of Hoppus' celeb pals (she worked for MTV for a decade) — like Britney Spears, Heidi Klum, Kimora Lee Simmons and Gwyneth Paltrow — have essays and helpful hints throughout the book.
Here are 10 tips
:1. Buy as many men's T-shirts as you can. The extra length covers most bellies ... inexpensively.
2. Tunics are great for layering under jackets and vests
.3. Skip the horizontal stripes, but diagonal and vertical are fine
.4. Maternity jeans now come in more fashionable styles, but make sure there's at least two to eight percent Lycra or spandex to ensure that your jeans will "grow" with you. Darker rinses in a soft-washed denim are also more flattering. Look for jeans with larger back pockets that are proportionally placed in the center of each cheek (too high or too small makes your butt look larger).
5. Flattering skirts include A-lines and tiered styles. When in doubt about length, go for just below the knee so the hem hits at the narrowest part of the leg.
6. Track suits are a must-have. Make sure you wear the pants low on the hips (very slimming) and always go for bold, bright colors (mix and match).
7. Mundies (maternity undies) are the way to go. Your old underwear will cut off your circulation like a tourniquet. Elle MacPherson Intimates, Mama Spanx, La Mere and Maternelle all have sexy undergarments. Bras should have thick straps, wide underbands and avoid seamed cups. Consider sleeping in a jogging bra. Seamless bikinis, thong panties, lace-trimmed boy shorts — in cotton — will help you avoid the dreaded fashion killer: panty lines.
8. Going out? Gwyneth Paltrow suggests a kimono worn with stretchy pants. Bejeweled kitten heels are glam and comfy. Show off your new decolletage with ruching and ruffles around the neckline (never too plunging) in halter dresses, A-line skirts paired with stretch-lace camisole tops or a classic jersey wrap dress. Empire silhouettes are very flattering and all the rage with designers.
9. In the hospital you might want to pack drawstring pajama or beach pants. There are also some maternity track suits with built-in bras for easy-access breast-feeding after delivery. A black nightgown (things get messy) is the best choice. This also means no G-strings; pack dark-hued, cotton "granny panties."
10. In everything you do, keep the prints and patterns small and delicate (to avoid parade float comparisons).

The Beatles New York
The Beatles' New York
Recently Rolling Stone took a 60-second tour of The Beatles' New York, with a little help from Google’s Street Maps feature.
First up on their tour: John and Yoko’s first NYC apartment at 105 Bank Street (where they lived during the release of this album). Here's a closer look at the property, which is also shown at right.
In 1971, after a long stay at the St. Regis Hotel, John Lennon and Yoko Ono moved into a tiny pad owned by Lovin’ Spoonful drummer Joe Butler. This was during Lennon’s most political period, and he often hosted gatherings at the apartment that drew counterculture figures like Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. Lennon also demoed much of his Some Time in New York City album in this spot. After 18 months, though, John and Yoko moved on up, to the Upper West Side apartment building called the Dakota.
Other places on the trip down memory lane include
The Plaza at 2 Central Park South ends the tour. In February 1964 the Beatles began their American journey there and ten years later they attempted to reunite in the same spot to sign legal documents that would formally dissolve their partnership. However "John didn’t show up. 'He wouldn’t come across the park!' Paul McCartney said.

Heather and Paul to be neighbors
July 5, 2007 -
Heather Mills and Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney Photos (28)
Sir Paul McCartney and his estranged wife Heather Mills are set to be neighbors. Heather is currently looking for a home just minutes away from The Beatles legend's Peasmarsh estate in East Sussex.
The former model is said to be keen to live close to Paul, 65, for the sake of their three-year-old daughter Beatrice.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Six months ago, this would have been inconceivable. But they think it will be best for Beatrice to have both her parents close by."
Heather, 39, is planning to sell her $4 million art deco beachfront Sussex home in Hove, and move to Rye. The coastal town is just three miles away from Paul's lavish estate.
Relations between Paul and Heather - who have been embroiled in a bitter divorce battle since splitting in May 2006 - have seemingly improved in recent months.
The pair are said to have decided to end their feud for the sake of Beatrice, with friends claiming they meet regularly. Paul has even been sending Heather "little notes and flowers."
The musician recently revealed 'See Your Sunshine' which features on his new album 'Memory Almost Full' was inspired by happier times with his estranged wife.
He said: "That is pretty much an out-and-out love song for Heather."
"A lot of the album was done before, during and after our separation. I didn't go back and take out any songs to do with her."
"That one was written during a good time with Heather."

The 37-year-old said: "Losing my mother prematurely has had a profound impact on my life in that it has made me appreciate the people around me.
"If I have one great sadness, it's that my mother never got to meet my two wonderful sons, Arthur, eight, and Elliot, four."
Mary said her mother's oncologist introduced the family to Cancerbackup. "They were invaluable, giving us emotional support and crucial information to help us understand the process. It feels like a privilege to give something back."

49 years ago a Fateful day
Pick of the day
Phil Daoust
Tuesday July 3, 2007The GuardianForty-nine-years, 11 months and 28 days ago, in the leafy Liverpool suburb of Woolton, St Peter's church was holding its summer fete. The highlight was supposed to be the crowning of the Sunday school Rose Queen. With hindsight, however, it was a performance by a young skiffle group called the Quarrymen. The band's leader was John Lennon; in the audience was a friend-of-a-friend, Paul McCartney, who had come not for the music but for the chance to meet girls. One imagines the future Beatles gazing into each other's eyes and whispering: "Let us make beautiful music together."
Or maybe not. We'll probably find out in Well Met in Woolton (11.30am, Radio 4), in which attendees of the fete remember that historic occasion. The voices include previously unheard recordings from McCartney himself, and Lennon's half-sister, Julia Baird.
There's also another chance to hear one of Mary Shelley's less well-known works. The Mortal
Immortal (6.30pm, BBC7), read by Shaun Dooley, tells how a young man drinks a magic potion after his love life takes a turn for the worse. He thinks the liquid will cure him of all emotion, but instead it grants him eternal life. And that's not the blessing you might imagine.

Stella McCartney and Peta for Furry Animals
Stella McCartney And PETA For Furry Animals
Stella McCartney will participate in the worldwide protest against fur, together with the PETA organization in the virtual Second Life.
Stella McCartney has joined the PETA organization as a co-host to the first world virtual protest against fur, on the 3D “continent” Second Life, created on the internet.
The celebrations and picnic in the exterior will be held for a week, and starts on July 12th, on that “island”.
Visitors to the site will have an opportunity to donate money to PETA, and will also accept bags with slogans against the use of fur on fashion accessories, with the aim to spread the message amongst the seven million inhabitants of the imaginary Second Life.
Guests will be called to think of the best anti-fur slogan based on the ironic PETA slogan, “I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” or simply to wear shirts with the writing “I'd Rather Be Pixelated Than Wear Fur”.
When the slogans are allocated, all on the site, or the “island”, a database will be formed for current discussions on how the manufacturing of fur is cruel.
“Sometimes it is nice to have a bit of humour in serious subjects”, said Stella McCartney.Stella will personally judge the slogans, and the winner will be announced on the July 22nd.
The best three slogans will win prizes from Stella McCartney, including two tickets to see a fashion show spring/summer 2008, which will be held in Paris in October, reports Vogue.

Yoko Ono hails McCartney as a magnificent man
Yoko Ono hails McCartney as a ‘magnificent man’
London, June 28:
Though reports have already raked up the long-standing feud between Beatles legend John Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono and Sir Paul McCartney, the avant-garde artist has described McCartney as a ‘magnificent man’ during the unveiling of a plaque in honour of her late husband and George Harrison. The 72-year-old also posed for a photograph with Harrison’s widow, Ringo Starr and McCartney.
Ono said that her late husband would have been very happy that the show has been a great success and another ‘magnificent man’ is introducing him. “John would have been very happy and glad that this show is such a success, and also that another magnificent man introduced him - I'm very thankful to him,”
the Daily Mail quoted her, as saying. In 2002, when McCartney released the album, "Back In The U.S. Live 2002". With reversed credits, Ono is said to have wanted to sue him. The album that had 19 classic songs by Beatles was released as by Paul ‘McCartney and John Lennon’, instead of ‘Lennon-McCartney’. However, Ono’s lawyer said there was no legal issue in it. “This is not an issue involving a legal matter ... She is secure in the knowledge that the agreement that has been in place for the past 40 years stands,” her lawyer said.

The Beatles rooftop concert 1969 history
Lil History:
The band came back together in 1969 and began shooting a film that was supposed to show them in the writing and recording process of their next album, “Let It Be.” Instead the tension within the group overflowed onto the camera and being constantly filmed began to be an annoyance only flaming the fires.
The session and filming was stopped and they went to Apple Saville Row Studios to finish the album. The sessions finally ended in the famous “rooftop” concert

Paul & Heathers divorce on hold?
Paul McCartney and Heather Mills putting divorce on hold?
Just over a year since their separation, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have sparked rumours that they’re having second thoughts about their divorce.
The Sunday Mirror is reporting that the pair, along with their three year old daughter Beatrice, are planning to spend Paul’s 65th birthday together next week after weeks of improving relations.
An “impeccable McCartney source” told the newspaper the couple are no longer just communicating through their lawyers but speak regularly on the phone and in person where possible: “We are talking about a total and very quick transformation from a state of complete vitriol between the two of them to something much more amicable.”

Mum taught Mary right
ART: McCartney gains subjects' trust, humanizes photos
11:21 AM CDT on Friday, June 1, 2007
By MICHAEL GRANBERRY / Staff Writer
Sam Granado / Special to DMN Being Paul's daughter has its advantages, and drawbacks.
You might think that, when it comes to picking songs of her dad's that are close to her heart, Paul McCartney's daughter would choose "Yesterday" or "All My Loving" or anything from his days with the Beatles.
But you would be wrong.
Mary McCartney loves her father's music, but her favorites veer more toward the Wings era, especially songs on which her dad and "mum," the late Linda McCartney, can be heard harmonizing.
"That really makes me smile," she says. "When I'm cooking, I put on a Wings album and listen to them singing together. And it's guaranteed to make me smile, every time."
Ms. McCartney, 37, has her father's eyes, smile and hair color, and maybe even more in common with her mom, who carved out her own career as a photographer before being linked to the famous Beatle.
Evidence of her daughter's photographic talent is now on display in an exhibition at Goss Gallery, "Mary McCartney: Playing Dress Up," through June 15.
"Playing Dress Up" features striking images from Mary's work in fashion, including her collaboration with sister Stella, a celebrated designer. Mary is the oldest of Paul and Linda's three children, the youngest being brother James. Mary was named for Paul's mother, who died of breast cancer when he was 14. Breast cancer also claimed the life of Linda McCartney.

Stella McCartney blasts Tom Ford
STELLA MCCARTNEY'S SCUFFLE WITH FORD
STELLA MCCARTNEY has blasted designer TOM FORD for giving her unwanted beauty advice. The fashion designer was unimpressed when the fellow clothesmaker tried to give her a style overhaul - because gruelling cosmetic regimes aren't her thing. She says,
"Tom Ford once told me that I should highlight my hair and do my eyebrows, and got all camp on me and I told him to go away. "I'm just not that kind of woman. I've nothing against that kind of woman, it's just not a priority and I don't have the time."

Waiting for Stella McCartney at Target
The workings of the brain help explain why some people just can't stop spending.
Women desperate for a piece of the Stella McCartney for Target collection lined up for hours on the morning of the March 12 launch, before storming the stores and stripping the mannequins. Some spent thousands of dollars on the budget range.
However, after the initial frenzy was over, many shoppers were left with a sizeable retail hangover. Weeks after the launch, hundreds of clothes had been returned to Target, and racks of garments hung listlessly in city stores. Online auction house eBay has been flooded with people trying to sell unwanted Stella McCartney for Target items, but now the flurry is well and truly over: almost half haven't sold.

Putting a price on memories of the Fab 4 (or 5 )
May 8 2007
by Sarah Chapman, Liverpool Echo
IT could be Beatles for sale after fans of the Fab Four raided their attics for rare pieces of memorabilia.
Previously undiscovered treasures such as a book signed by a 15-year-old John Lennon and love letters from “fifth Beatle” Stuart Sutcliffe were taken along to a valuation event at the Albert Dock.
Valuer Jason Cornthwaite carried out free valuations with Paul Wane.
He said a steady stream of around 100 people came through the doors on Sunday and yesterday clutching records, autographs, paintings and photographs.
“There was a school textbook which had been signed by John Lennon in 1955 and that was valued at £1,250.
“A man came in with a dictionary which was signed by George Harrison and we also saw a card which belonged to John Lennon when he was in the RAF Cadets.
“The most valuable thing we’ve looked at were Beatles autographs signed at the Grafton in 1962 and they’re worth £1,800.”
Stuart Sutcliffe, who died in 1962, was studying at Liverpool College of Art.
She said: “Stuart wrote me love letters which also contain poems for me.
“They are very personal and the valuer has been the first person who’s ever read them apart form me, so it has been a bit strange.”

Hard day's light for Beatle Hotel
May 11 2007
by Catherine Jones, Liverpool Echo
THE opening date for Liverpool’s new £18m Hard Day’s Night hotel is in the balance over a power supply crisis.
Owners of the Beatle-themed hotel in North John Street say Scottish Power has run into difficulties supplying electricity despite an agreement signed a year ago.
The power company needs to access cables in nearby Harrington Street.
But that means digging through new paving and concrete laid as part of the £73m City Centre Movement Strategy. There have also been fears the work could leave other businesses in the area without power for several days.
The restaurant will be a focal point in the Hard day's night hotel
The hotel says unless the problem is resolved within the next three weeks, their planned October launch is in doubt.
Jimmy Tyrer, of developers Bowdena, said: “We’ve had the electricity substation in the basement since last year, and in January we were given a date in March to get the power supply up and running.
“It was only when that didn’t happen that we found out about this problem.
“There’s a massive amount of work going on inside the building. However, we can’t finish anything until the power is sorted out.
“With this problem hanging over us we can’t start hiring people or taking bookings.
“We don’t want to apportion blame. We just want everyone to work together and try to sort this out.”
Scottish Power today promised it would sort the problem out.
A spokeswoman said: “We’ve been working closely with the city council over this issue.
“The reason for the delay is a need to ensure we comply with health and safety guidance when working in the Harrington Street area and excavating in the vicinity of live cables.
“This area has been resurfaced with a reinforced concrete sub base to support the new granite footway.
“We’ve looked at alternative locations to provide a connection to the hotel and have selected a revised position in North John Street, which we expect to be completed within the timescales expected, enabling the hotel to open on schedule.”
